The last two days have been largely lost to me, since my laptop has been in surgery and is in flagging health. It’s kind of amazing how much I rely on this little guy, but I can’t seem to think right when it’s not working. That might be sad, or it might just be how we’re living these days. Anyway, here are pictures from last week. It was a good one.
July 29 – I made panzanella for dinner, and those tomatoes were perfect. Perfect. This was a great side to some grilled salmon. Simple, wonderful summer dinner.
July 30 – Then Sean left and I ate macaroni and cheese. From a box. It’s been a long time and this was a delightful homecoming. I make my Annie’s with heavy cream, and while you might think that is just too decadent to be considered, please do. It will blow your mind.
July 31 – My desk at work. This is my cozy librarian corner. I especially love the Ranganathan poster.
Wednesday disappeared in a haze of no picture taking, but I did attend a workshop on photo editing that was…interesting. We’ll see if my skills improve.
August 2 – Thursday was a beautiful day. I pass by the Paramount Theater every day on my walk home from work, and wanted to share this beautiful little part of Oakland.
August 3 – Continuing the Oakland love: These posters were recently put up in the neighborhood. This town is full of quirkiness and surprises.
August 4 – Saturday I went to the Gaultier exhibit in San Francisco with Eunice. It was amazing, and I was most taken with all the textures: crochet and silk and lace and leather. I really loved the texture in this photo in particular.
2012 continues on in its too-fast pace. I can’t believe it’s August already. But it’s been a great year so far. I can’t wait to document the rest of it.
