Last weekend feels very far away. It’s been that kind of a week.
September 16 – Last Sunday I ran a 9K. I achieved my personal goal and made decent time, so we celebrated with mac and cheese at Homeroom. I love their card catalog decor.
Sept 17 – I made a Provencal Vegetable Tart. The tart crust was one of my best, I think, but the vegetables got a little dried out in the oven. More experimentation is necessary.
Sept 18 – My first peer reviewed article was published!
Sept 19 – I decided to take advantage of all the large tables at work, and bring in a sewing project for cutting.
Sept 20 – Thursday morning was bright and sunny, which is not very typical in Oakland. The skies were so blue!
On Friday, my phone was stolen, and seeing as that was the only camera I had on me that day, I have no pictures. Bummer, too, because I went to the Eat Real Fest with my friend Eunice and tasted some fantastic food, and there were lots of great things I wanted to take pictures of.
Sept 22 – Saturday I made some soup, and included these fragrant fennel seeds and mustard seeds. (I also took a sewing class which was awesome, and made a skirt!)
All in all, it was a good week, despite the loss of my phone. I’m deep in the midst of fall cleaning, and am focused on cleaning out, clearing out, and reorganizing. There is something about September that always makes me want to freshen things up.
Seriously? A 9K? Wow ~ I’m impressed. :0) I am glad to hear you like to sew. Kind of a lost art. I wish I had more time to do it.
