Last week started with some serious relaxation at Cavallo Point and ended at a crazy crowded Urban Wine Festival in Oakland. Another week of LOVING California.
August 12 – Sailboats and fog. I love the San Francisco Bay.
August 13 – We stopped in San Rafael for lunch on our way back home on Monday. It’s a cuter little town than I thought. Lunch was at Broken Drum Brewery, and I ordered my standard, a tuna melt. I love a good tuna melt, and this did not disappoint. We also made a stop at Arizmendi and bought a loaf of Asiago Sourdough. Be still my heart.
August 14 – A thrown together dinner ended up being even more delicious than I thought it would be. It might even be blog worthy.
August 15 – This week’s reading. It feels a little dated by now (there’s a whole chapter on Second Life) but was still a fun way to refresh my love for my profession.
August 16 – Tacos have become the go-to dinner when I’m feeling uninspired. We grilled some amazing steak, and threw it in to charred tortillas with some salsa, avocado, and a little cheese. Another spur of the moment dinner surprise. So good!
August 17 – I checked out a new (to me) Mediterranean deli near work on Friday and ordered the falafel. Super messy, super delicious. This might be my new favorite lunch when I’m too lazy to brown bag it.
August 18 – Saturday night equals pizza night. We had these cornmeal crusts from Whole Foods in the freezer. I topped them with ricotta, smoked mozzarella, tapenade, and slow-roasted tomatoes. They were spectacular.
We are still loving our California summer.
